I think they were called Kentucky Mints, and I believe they were made by Brachs. I am 50 and remkember it oh so well, we had a penny candy store right on the corner of my street in South Buffalo, A couple of weeks ago, a vague memory of the 2-stick for-the-penny gum with the powdery stuff on it entered my 52 yr old brain. I agree with so many of the comments that have been made by othersyou ask people if they remember or have ever heard of this gum and they look at you like you are crazy. Chiclets hasn't changed much over the decades and its iconic mini box of 2 Chiclets is still a Halloween fan favorite. Sure miss the 50's and the way things were. Sometimes the flavor is decent, but you can't blow a bubble if your life depended on it. The gum itself was Hot Pink in color and had the most unique flavor. No one I talk to remembers Chum gum, I loved it. In fact, you might be able to say that Dubble Bubble was a spinoff of Chum Gum. The Red Licorice that is on the American Market at most convenient stores is beyond horrible. They were in a white pack that blue writing with individual pieces. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF AND WHERE IT IS AVAILABLE NOW??? what great memories. There were 3 sticks in the pack,an open ended pack, not a sealed pack like other gums. I am 60 and like to think the best times are still here, just being alive and healthy. I loved Chum Gum :-). Do they still make them? I also could not find anyone who seem to remember it. they took me home in the police car and my mom was pissed!!!!!! The brand stopped producing Pure Rush energy drinks, South Beach Sunset, 14 Karot but continued . You could smell it if it was in someone's pocket, that's how alluring the scent of it was!
